In the beginning this was our dream:
Our event will have 100-150 people. There will be circular tables for seating and rectangular tables for auction items. The auction items will include: desserts, treats other items. It will be March of 9 2012, in the evening around 5:00.
We hope to have entertainment, and a representative from Hero Holiday. We will be displaying a presentation about our purpose. There will be gorgeous decorations, with a Mexican theme. Mexican dancers and artists will be invited to participate.
It is now the beginning of March, and with lots of work, planning and preparation our dream is being realized. Reading the blog posts you will know that auction items include:
- desserts donated by farmer's market venders, bakeries, restaurants and specialty shoppes
- appetizers donated by the Junction Eatery and M&M Meat Shoppe
- auction items from a hair salon, a vet, a cleaning company.
- a donation for the taco Salad by Dr. Deb Crowfoot
- a donation of a certificate from Superstore, for pop and juice
- a donation for tickets and printing from UPS
- other printing costs covered by Dr. Gibb
- a donation for media coverage by Calder Publishing
- a donation of location by Southminister-Steinhauer United Church.
The doors will open at 4:30: the auction will open and food service begins.
Not only will there be dessert items for auction, the art of two Mexican artists will be featured.
At 5:30 the auction and kitchen will be closed. A multimedia presentation will begin: including a presentation by Ocean and Janelle. Mexican dancers to follow.
Admission is only $2. If that is the minimum that you can afford, you are still welcome to come. ($2 Canadian can feed a family of four in Mexico for two weeks!)
Come out to the event to support both Janelle and Ocean as they live different with the hope of not just populating the world but changing it.
